“日晷”走进英语教学

CEP双语部中学周昀韵老师在第3周“广州市七年级英语新教材培训系列活动(黄埔专场)”教研活动中,面向广州四区英语教师,进行新教材U2跨学科版块进行说课与分享,现场反响热烈。

In the third week of the "Grade 7 English New Textbook Training Series Activities of Guangzhou (Huangpu Session)", Ms. Zhou Yunyun, a teacher at our school, delivered a lesson demonstration and shared her insights on the new textbook's Unit 2 cross-curricular connection with English teachers from four districts in Guangzhou. 



周老师首先充分研读教材,并联合学校地理备组,开展双学科的联合教研。从日晷在古代的作用,到日晷的不同类型,再到工作原理,课堂活动设计深入浅出、环环相扣,她将“日晷”相关的地理学科知识巧妙融入英语教学中,一个又一个有趣的问题激发了学生的求知欲望,为我们展示了如何打破学科界限,激发学生学习兴趣的新途径。

First of all, Ms. Zhou fully studied the textbook and carried out joint teaching and research with the school's geography preparation team.From the role of sundials in ancient times, to the different types of sundials, and then to the principle of work, the classroom activities designed in-depth, interlocking, she will be “sundials” related to geography subject knowledge skillfully integrated into English teaching, one after another interesting questions to stimulate the students' desire to know, showing us how to break the boundaries of the disciplines, stimulate the interest of students to learn new ways. This shows us how to break the boundaries of subjects and stimulate students' interest in learning.



英语科组以教师推荐为主要方式,自愿参与为基本原则,成立了学生先锋学习小组。在周老师的引导下,先锋小组的同学们亲身体验了广州(北纬23度)环境下,十月初的简易日晷制作与时刻记录。

The English teaching team established a pioneer learning group mainly through teacher recommendations and on the basic principle of voluntary participation. Under the guidance of Ms. Zhou, the students in the pioneer group personally experienced the making of simple sundials and the recording of time in the environment of Guangzhou (23 degrees north latitude) in early October.



周老师在本次教学探究中,不仅详细阐述了课例中的教学策略和实施步骤,完善了教材的设计、丰富了课程内容,还为老师们提供了具体的操作指引,为老师们提供了宝贵的教学思路和方法。周老师的课例分享,不仅对华外教学是一次重要贡献,也为广大教育工作者提供了学习和借鉴的机会。

During this teaching exploration, Ms. Zhou not only expounded upon the teaching strategies and implementation steps, enhanced the instructional design of teaching materials and diversified the course content, but also furnished teachers with specific operational guidelines, along with precious teaching notions and methodologies. In addition, Ms. Zhou's presentation of the teaching case makes a substantial and valuable contribution to the English teaching practice in Huawai. Moreover, it presents learning and reference opportunities for a large number of educators.

英语与太空科学

English & Space Science


CEP双语中学英语学科一直重视各主题项目式学习,在新教材之前,一直坚持研究PBL校本课程。Unit 5的太空主题,今年八年级也曾作为PBL项目开展过。基于以往的经验,英语科组共同打磨了七年级新教材的区级公开课。

CEP Middle School's English subject has always attached great importance to thematic project-based learning, and before the new textbooks, it has consistently researched PBL school-based courses. The space theme in Unit 5 was once a PBL project for Grade 8 this year. Based on the past experiences, the English subject group jointly refined the district-level open class for Grade 7.



这节公开课将英语融合太空科学(Space Science),通过太空探索中所取得的“第一次”成就(Famous firsts in space)年份-事件的呈现,激发学生对更多背景知识的探索,引导学生在不同年份的太空探索事件中,进一步了解太空探索中所取得的“第一次”成就,从跨文化研究视角看待太空探索成就的宏观历史背景以及对流行文化持续深远的影响;以历史眼光看待中国的太空发展,并通过小组合作的方式展示中国的无数个“首次”成就。

This open class integrates English with space science, and stimulates students' exploration of more background knowledge through the presentation of "Famous firsts in space" year-event achievements in space exploration, guiding students to further understand the "first" achievements in space exploration in different years, and to view the macro historical background and lasting impact on popular culture from the perspective of cross-cultural research; to view China's space development from a historical perspective, and to display China's countless "first" achievements through group cooperation.



欧诗妍老师专业的英语教学能力和精心打磨的跨学科课堂赢得了教研员符丽雪老师和百名观课教师们的肯定。符老师高度评价,本课题的探究对全国英语教学都具有高度参考价值。

Ms. Ou Shiyan's professional English teaching ability and well-polished interdisciplinary classroom won the recognition of the teacher-researcher, Ms. Fu Lixue, and the 100 teachers who observed the class. Ms. Fu highly evaluated that the investigation of this topic has high reference value for English teaching in the whole country.
